wake-up

Recording Session of the Wake Up Song in Dharma Nectar Hall of Lower Hamlet.

Last night at the Dharma Nectar Hall of Lower Hamlet in Plum Village, lay and monastic practitioners from around the world gathered to concentrate our energy into a new song which could represent the Wake Up movement. Thanks to the good conditions of a visit from Joe Reilly, Melina Bondy and many talented monks, nuns and lay friends.

Drinking tea I see that the steam is in me
It is water in a river flowing endlessly
The true nature of its being is ecology
We are all one organism and together we breathe.

Arrived

download

sing by Brother Phap Khoi

arrived, arrived at home, I am at home
dwelling in the here and dwelling in the now
solid as a mountain, free as a white cloud
the door to no birth and no death is open
free and unshakable

The Mind Can Go in a Thousand of Direction

download

sing by Brother Phap Khoi

The mind can go in a thousand direction
but on this lovely path I walk in peace
with each step a gentle wind blows
with each step a flower blooms

Lyric by Thich Nhat Hanh

The sky is deeper blue today
Because I have awareness
The trees are more alive today
As I breathe in the greenness

Rivers

download

Lyric by Thich Nhat Hanh

Rivers flow through me
Sunshine is my morning tea
Body, harmony
Feelings, clouds in the sky
Perceptions, stones on the road
Mental formations, birds are singing...
Singing songs of freedom, freedom
Consciousness, deep blue sea,
Wash over me

Rivers flow through me

Sunshine is my morning tea

Body, harmony

Feelings, clouds in the sky

Perceptions, stones on the road

Mental formations, birds are singing...

Singing songs of freedom, freedom

Consciousness, deep blue sea,

Wash over me

Peace is the Way

download

Lyric by Thich Nhat Hanh

There is no way to peace.  Peace is the way.
There is no way to freedom.  Freedom is the way.
There is no way to happiness.  Happiness is the way.

Peace is in the here and now.  Peace is the way.
In every breath, in every step, peace is the way.
When I wake up, it’s right there waiting.  Peace is the way.
Smiling, saying, “Take my hand.”  Peace is the way.
“Don’t look for me in the future.  You can have me right now, right now.”
